Mr. Alvarez attended the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, with a degree in Health and Physical Education / Fitness. While at the university his passion and skill for baseball and pitching were developed, breaking most of the schools pitching records (3 still remaining today). His unique style of teaching with humor, stories, and encouragement make him a highly sought-after motivational speaker.

He routinely speaks at FamilyLife conferences around the country with his wife Michelle. They are the parents of three grown children and proud grandparents to three.
