Secretary and Director
Mr. Alvarez attended the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, with a degree in Health and Physical Education / Fitness. While at the university his passion and skill for baseball and pitching were developed, breaking most of the schools pitching records (3 still remaining today). He was subsequently drafted by the Atlanta Braves. While with the Atlanta Braves Alvarez was voted "Most Outstanding Pitcher" and went on in professional baseball for 16 years.
After his retirement from baseball, he took his love for the game and applied this talent to the coaching of high school students, college players, and young professional players. Alvarez coaches with a passion to encourage others to reach their goals, exceed their abilities and perform with excellence. His unique style of teaching with humor, stories, and encouragement make him a highly sought-after motivational speaker.
Alvarez continues to devote much of his time to helping others through with his involvement with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He routinely speaks at FamilyLife conferences around the country with his wife Michelle. They are the parents of three grown children and proud grandparents to three.
